It's crazy to think that we have reached the downslope of the school year. While I'm thankful for another sweet and productive homeschool year, it's also sad because my class is yet another year older. We still have 2 weeks + the end of year celebration before officially wrapping up our 5th year in Classical Conversations, but I'll share the pics I have so far. We have had a lot of fun learning in community on Friday mornings this year.
I tutor Ivy's class, which is the youngest group of learners. They are fun! This week we played "Dress the Tutor" for our Review game, which they think is just hilarious.
Every once in awhile we grab lunch afterwards with pals.
We made and flew paper airplanes during Science.
We built with LEGO's during Review time.
Ivy presented on "a favorite person." You can see who that person was. Ha!
Ivy and Josi have become sweet pals. This fall we were sent a 2nd purple dress by mistake so we shared it with Josi and they were twins on Valentine's Day. 💜
Fine Arts time often includes painting, which Ivy loves and does a pretty good job of.
Thankful for group learning opportunities like this where we can learn, play and explore.

We did a Science lesson on states of matter - solid, liquid, gas.
Ivy and I made these plaster cups at home for a sculpting project.
Unfortunately, she was in tears soon after this. The plaster was as solid as a rock and didn't sculpt at all, just crumbled into pieces. Most of them went in the trash, which was disappointing, yet a learning experience.

We learned about Pablo Picasso and his modern form of art known as cubism. The kids made silly faces, inspired by his style.
