Ivy Rae :: 4 Month Pics

In celebration of Ivy turning FIVE months old tomorrow (May 28th) I'm sharing the 4 month pictures my dear friend Hailee took last month.  She captured so many different faces and expressions that I had a hard time picking out just a handful to share, so instead I am giving you a whole bunch of them.  Ivy Rae, you are such a gift and we thank God for the gift of you!  The joy on your face and the beauty in your eyes is an expression of the true blessing you bring to our family.  We love you!   

      

Quarantine Week 10

For this Corona Quarantine post I'm going to caption each picture with some of the things I want to remember from this unique time in our world and in our home.  Amidst the challenges, there are so many sweet memories and so much to be thankful for.    

I want to remember how Greta loves to hold, snuggle and play with her baby sister.  

I want to remember working together in the kitchen, even if the mess they make drives me crazy.  

I want to remember the special homegrown delivery a friend made of my favorite spring flavor.  

I want to remember the countless walks we took together in our neighborhood.  

I want to remember the time Roy took a day off just so I could be freed up to do a few things on my list (including transplanting all of my house plants).  

I want to remember the amazing Daddy he is and how he cares for us all.  

I want to remember when she just stays put in the place I lay her (I know this won't last too much longer).  

I want to remember when she decided to start sleeping on her tummy.  

I want to remember the way Greta dances in the kitchen to Frozen 2 music she requests on Alexa.  

I want to remember our Thursday outings to the park with a fun lunch and our nature journals.  

I want to remember that beautiful toothless smile.  

I want to remember our wild Friday nights at home (checking our blood pressures).  

I want to remember these adorable baby arms.  

I want to remember her big eyes full of wonder.  

I want to remember her bald head.  

I want to remember the way her brother can get her to smile like this.    

I want to remember that her hands are constantly in her mouth.  

I want to remember the early morning bike rides these two took (on Saturday they rode 8 miles to Panera and back to get us bagels for breakfast).  

I want to remember the way she zooms on her bike with confidence.  

I want to remember his love for crafts.  

I want to remember her desire to wear these princess pjs every night.  

I want to remember how we worked together and learned new things.  

Quarantine Week 9

During the 9th week of the Corona Quarantine...

Hudson wrapped up more of his 3rd grade school work.  On Tuesday he completed his keyboarding and Awana.  

Afternoon playtime with Ivy Rae on our bed while the big kids have quiet time is both relaxing and sweet.  

Thursdays we go on nature hikes and explore at a local park.  This week we did a compare and contrast nature drawing with writing.    

Looking adorable in her new seersucker romper from Mimi, but no where to go.  

Bedtime snuggles in pajamas of the same color scheme.

Her clenched fist is a constant and that little birthmark on her hand is so precious and makes Ivy who she is.  

On Saturday Greta was eager to help me plant flowers and she picked up sticks in the yard.  She earned some money for the LEGO set she has her eye on.

Sunday night pizza and movie night was a perfect way to relax and end our week.    

Mother's Day

Easter and now Mother's Day during a pandemic has made for some unique memories.  The kids and Roy made us breakfast...poffertjes (mini Dutch pancakes), bacon, orange juice and a yogurt parfait.

Homemade cards, a new pair of lounge pants and a bag of Twizzlers...just what this Mama likes.  

I took a bath and then Hudson gave me a pedicure.  This is love folks!    

My mom bought the girls matching outfits for summer.  

This is Ivy's "I'm not so sure about this" face.  

Last year Mother's Day weekend I didn't feel well.  I had a migraine and a yucky tummy.  The Monday morning following I took a pregnancy test and we found out about Ivy.  So thankful for God's faithfulness to us this year by growing our family to THREE kids.   

I enjoyed some evening reading with my favorite blanket and in one of my favorite spots in the house.  

Our church put together a Mother's Day video and Roy was asked to submit a video.  This is what was shared.  Love them so!    

Roy played Rummikub with me after the kids were in bed and I beat him (in case you were wondering).  I grew up playing this game with my Grandma Ann so it has some sweet memories connected with it.  

It was a blessed day.  I was pampered and loved in many ways.  I am so thankful God made me a mom and for His grace and strength to teach and guide Hudson, Greta and Ivy each day.
