Which bump is bigger?

What is he going to look like?

We are getting very close to the birth of our baby boy!  Emily and I often wonder what life will be like with him and of course what will he look like.  He are some of our baby pictures when we were born.  Emily thinks he will look like me.  We will find out pretty soon!

Getting Ready For Baby!

The projects involved in getting ready for Lil' Swinger's arrival started this summer.  

Check out all the house projects we have done to prepare!  

This summer Roy put tile floors in the bathrooms upstairs.    

He has become quite the handy man and will tackle about any project.  

He built shelves in the garage to store lots of stuff to make 

room in the house for all of Lil' Swinger's stuff!  

In November our moms spent a day painting the basement,

which we later turned into an office and created an additional living space.  

Roy installed these cupboards in the basement to provide

 a work/creating space for me!  

Next the handy man put shelves in the nursery closet.  

My mom made several trips to Waukee to help get everything

organized and ready in the nursery.  Thanks mom!  

The nursery is all ready to go!  

The theme is planes...trains...and automobiles!    

Roy has assembled lots of "baby supplies."  

A New Year's Wedding

Roy and Luke De Boer have been friends since elementary school.
On New Year's Eve Roy had the privilege of being the best man in Luke & Sarah's wedding. 

In my opinion Roy really was the BEST man at the wedding!  :)

Happy 2011!  So many new adventures this year will hold for the two of us!  

Christmas 2010

The baby bump at 33 weeks.  

Roy and I celebrated our last Christmas together as a family of 2.  

Lil' Swinger got some gifts this Christmas too.

We enjoyed Christmas Day with my family in Sioux Center.  

Mom, Angela, and I had lunch, dessert, and hot chocolate
together in Le Mars when I was home over break.  

Baby Shower #3

On Christmas Eve morning my sister hosted a baby shower with the
Bomgaars Girls at my parent's house.  

As always, the food Angela made was amazing...complete with monkey bread!

She also made these fun monkey and banana cookies.  

I am thankful Grandma could join us for the shower.
In 2011 Grandma will turn 90, my dad will be 60, I will be 30, and Lil' Swinger will be born.
That is 4 generations, 30 years apart.  Pretty cool!
