Five years ago we opened a Disney Rewards Credit Card with the intention of earning points/dollars to use towards a trip to take our kids to Disney. Disney is over the top fun, but with it comes a hefty price tag. Our intention was to take some of the financial burden off of our plate so we could still provide the opportunity for our family. Therefore, we had been anticipating this trip for years. The dollars didn't get us a free trip, but it sure did help to get us a more affordable trip. Via the suggestion of the Living By Disney Podcast we chose the month of November. She ranked all the months and said November was the #1 month to visit, which worked well for our family schedule. We used the funds earned from our summer garage sale towards our plane tickets and the kids got some sweet spending money for souvenirs. We also changed up plans for birthdays this year, no big parties and no big gifts. This trip was everyone's birthday gift/party. We chose the dates for our stay and made our hotel reservation in January of this year. Thanks to the help of a Disney Planning Advisor, Megan (connected to us via a friend) she was a wonderful resource to ask questions, provide expertise and take the lead on the planning (which there is a lot of). Friday, November 15th our packing was complete and we grabbed a family picture with our countdown board before hitting the road for the airport. Florida...here we come!!
