Hudson helped me make a Fruit Jeopardy game.  I came up with the questions and he took it from there.

Two-tti Fruitti Party Food

I always enjoy putting the meal together for the party guests.  The clean up, not so much, but I usually have help with that part (thanks Mom, Ang and Sue).  Family members continue to show up year after year, party after party and they never complain about what I make.  Compliments are frequent and everyone seems to enjoy gathering around the table together.  Therefore, I keep doing it and am thankful for the opportunity to celebrate and gather together.  

I made Hawaiian Chicken Sliders for a "tropical twist."  

Pasta Salad is usually a crowd pleaser.

It's always rewarding to see how it all comes together after the planning, shopping and preparing is complete.

We didn't eat lunch until close to 2:30 (party started after Ivy's nap) so everyone was pretty hungry.  

Celebrating birthdays with cousins is so sweet.

So thankful for this guy and how he always helps me pull these parties off.  

 

Two-tti Frutti Decorations

I decided on a Two-tti Fruitti themed party for Ivy because she is our fruit loving two year old.  Plus, with her birthday being in winter, the sweet colors and tastes of a fruit themed party seemed just perfect.  

Hudson decorated the stairs with colorful streamers.  

I made a giant 2 out of pictures from her second year.  

I found the invite on Etsy.  I gathered and bought the artificial fruit and baskets for simple decor.    

Her birthday book was a favorite one we had recently checked out at the library.  

I got the paper fans from Hobby Lobby and the tissue paper fruits on Amazon.  Hanging decorations from the ceiling instantly makes things festive.    

The tablecloths, plates, napkins, party hats and birthday banner came in a party pack from Amazon.  

I used to make the birthday banners with my scrapbooking supplies.  I don't take time for that anymore but Amazon has some really cute options.  

We have fun coming up with creative ideas for the letter/message board.

 

Ivy Turns TWO!

 Our Ivy Rae turned TWO on Tuesday, December 28th.  

We kicked off the celebrating (a day early) with some jumping at Get Air on Monday.  

She is a busy one, always on the move, so this was just her kind of thing.  

These birthday buddies make December a bit crazy, but I sure am thankful for the special bond they share.    

After jumping we went out for Ivy's birthday lunch at El Mariachi.  She loved the chips, salsa and rice.    

As is our family tradition, her bedroom floor was decorated with balloons on the morning of her birthday.  She loved it when we tossed them in her bed and she jumped up.

After Ivy's nap we ventured out for a little outing.  We rode the "Christmas train" at the mall.  I purchased 4 tickets so Ivy got two rides and Hudson and Greta each got a chance to ride with her.  

She absolutely loved the "Choo Choo" and she is still talking about it.  

We ventured over to the mall play area afterwards and they had fun running around and burning off some energy (and probably picking up some germs). 

Dinner was goulash, peas, applesauce and blueberry muffins.  It's the same thing we had last year on her 1st birthday.  It's a family favorite.  

After dinner we opened gifts.  

Roy and I gave her a scooter, which she loves and has gotten pretty good at.  

Greta made her a birthday card and had a gift for her.

They adore Ivy and loved celebrating with her.  

We wrapped up our day trying out a new ice cream shop called Home Sweet Cone.  Ivy preferred Daddy's lap and his ice cream, which none of us complained about.

She turned two when we were having ice cream (at 7:19pm), which Hudson and Greta thought was just great.  

We love our Ivy Rae!  She is one of life's sweetest gifts to us.
