Ang Moves to Des Moines

My sister, Angela drove her U-Haul from Colorado to Iowa May 1st and 2nd.  She moved her stuff into her garage on May 6th.  She lived with us for the week.  Finally, on May 10th, a week later than she anticipated (because the hardwood floors were getting a makeover), her belongings were moved into her home.

Ang has worked tirelessly to make this place her home.  It's just beautiful and full of charm, but since it's an old home, it's been a process.  We have enjoyed helping her out as we are able and cheering her on along the way.  Every time we show up she has made progress and there are new things to see.

It's still sometimes hard to believe this is true.  I encouraged and pestered Ang about moving to DM for years and now here she is!  

Roy and I enjoyed dinner out on Friday night and a workout on Saturday morning.  

How special it is to have Ang close and love on us all.   

May Happenings

May Day Baskets!  

We hit up the Des Moines Farmers Market.  Hudson got a Dutch letter for his treat of choice.  Atta-boy!  

LEGOs are their love language, all three of them.  

Mimi gave them each of them a Target gift card to celebrate the end of school.  The girls were itching me to take them there (to make a LEGO purchase of course).  

Roy and Hudson installed Greta's custom closet from The Container Store.  They are a stellar team!  

Looks like we have TWO drivers in the family now.  

 

Hudson's nesting bowls he made for a HSAP clay project turned out great.  

Every Sunday afternoon Hudson does tech stuff for our church.  I don't understand any of what he does.  He is such a gem.  

Ivy's "official" last day of preschool.

After an 8 week break Hudson got back in the pool in May for the long course season.  

 

Roy planted his corn and soybeans.  We love our farmer.

Hudson read the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy for his Omnibus class so he and Roy watched the entire (extended version) trilogy together.  Every DVD is 3-4 hours long.  

 

Ivy's Preschool Graduation

Ivy's Tiny Treasures Preschool Graduation took place on May 21st.  She requested tater tot casserole and applesauce (her favorite meal) for the night of her graduation.  

Her class sang a handful of preschool songs and it was all just so adorable.  

Love that smile!  

Ivy goes to a lot of her older siblings activities.  Preschool was "her thing," which was so meaningful.  It gave purpose and structure to her days.  She thrived and grew in beautiful ways.

We adore Ivy's teacher, Ms. Rachel and her assistant Ms. JoLynn. They loved Ivy so well.

Preschool proved to be a sweet blessing to our whole family.  Ivy had a blast and learned so much.  It gave us margin to focus on our school work while she was away.  

Greta snuck out because she had a softball game but I got some sweet pics of these two cuties.  

This pose cracks me up.  I envision them taking this picture again in 5 years when Hudson graduates from high school.
